Yes, I know that. However, probabilities are that a DVD-9 will usually
have a higher bitrate than a DVD-5. Since most DVD review sites don't
list average bitrates, the best I can do is make sure something isn't
DVD-5 before I buy it. Unfortunately no review sites have reviews of
these last 2 Pink Panther movies (by far the worst ones).
Nevertheless, I would still REALLY appreciate it if someone would tell
me if The Curse of the Pink Panther and Son of the Pink Panther are
DVD-5 or DVD-9.
I searched Google and DVD-Basen for this info. Also, DVD Empire's
layer info can't be trusted... for instance it says SS-SL for all the
Pink Panther movies and the box set. Yet the review below says that
the 5 movies in the box set are all DVD-9:

Is this review wrong or did MGM retransfer all the movies from DVD-9
to DVD-5 for the recent individual releases?
