You may have an error in the Hosts file...
Open the hosts file in notepad, have word-wrap turned off. Check to
see that the spaces are where they belong. Check for uniform rows of
characters. The one in article.....

will work if copy/pasted into notepad and saved as "Hosts" then put in
the correct windows folder. A firewall rule allowing connections to
"Winmx.com" is now incorrect and may stop your connecting. If your
firewall has a "learning mode" it should be activated as it may show a
problem.
