Randy -
I know you are a long-time lurker/participant here, so I understand your
frustration - as WinMX has been very good to me, as well, over the years,
and I've been pleased to share HQ bin rips as well as my own on P2P.
The current state of file-sharing networks/communities *is* cause for some
concern... since it proves that propaganda can effectively frighten the
general populace into hiding.
Unless you've tried it already, I would suggest a detailed scan of your HD
for anything winmx-related (including any "patches" downloaded), and
manually delete. Re-download WinMX, and down/apply the patch that *did*
work for you originally. Then, explore posts on the other patches to
determine incompatibility.
Lord knows, if software ever decided to get even, the human race would be
on the fast track to extinction.
