I was glad to see your post, Don. Many have come here looking for a HOSTS
file when finding the DLL will not work with their OS. And it is also
interesting, for those of us on the outside, to guess at what those who have
contributed most to the rescue of WinMX may be doing on the inside.
Editing the HOSTS file is not the way to go for most users, nor should it
be, I guess:-( However, only the temporary confidence created by the moment
of these contributors' efforts would allow me to download an EXE file for so
simple a purpose. I encourage any who do, to scan aggressively, as it won't
be long before some infantile nerd will leap on this opportunity (not to
mention the very nerds one is challenging by all this creativity;-0)
It seems that things will be in flux for a while, so I hope all the visitors
realize that their HOSTS file may not solve the problem for long, and an
update to it may be necessary. So knowing where to go for help will be a
good thing.
