I think I saw similar restrictions on a webpage once - yet I was able 
to simply save the page to my HD, and cut/paste that. 
 
Not to turn this into a thread more appropriate to 
alt.rec.multimedia.vcrtoDVD NG, what do you really need to rip from 
VCR's?  A capture card & a lot of HD space is what I've heard - is that 
correct?  I'm assuming that VCR rips will always visibly trail digital 
downloads in quality, but there are some old videos I'd like to save.
