On the matter of choosing between the "hosts" file patch and the
"ws2_32.dll" file as a fix, there's a note concerning the latter option
on the home page of WinMXWorld.com, and it says:
"If you are currently using one of the modified Hosts files to connect
then it is strongly advised that you switch to using this patch as the
host files restrict you to specific peer caches, this patch also
contains additional features such as blocking the RIAA that should help
the network out a lot."
So there's your explanation.
