You're unlikely to find many "hits" on either of these websites. They
specialize in music for people who want to go beyond whatever has been
hyped into the charts. 99% of the music that is produced is not intended
to, and so never reaches, the charts. It's made by people that are more
interested in making quality music than just making money. It's made by
musicians.
As a little bit of background, eMusic is a service that has signed a
vast number of independent labels, whereas Warp is an independent label
in its own right.
Not everyone wants to listen to the bland manufactured music that makes
the charts. Some of us detest the stuff!
But perhaps you should try some 30-second clips on eMusic. You never
know, you might just hear something that you like that you haven't, and
will never, hear on the radio or TV...
