I have yet to hear of a player that can play two discs at once.

It's another attempt to copy-protect CD's, and you never heard it
discussed. But strangely, you haven't experienced it either. This is
a good sign since most popular music just sucks. One of these days,
those record companies are going to start copy-protecting good music.
But hopefully long after we're dead, or can afford iPod Nanos.
