Once again the RIAA is trying to have its way thru intimidation, shortcutting the legal
system. If I'm not mistaken, the Supreme Court ruled that p2p companies like Grokster may
be sued but they didn't find Grokster guilty. The RIAA is so sure their power, money and
lawyers would guarantee a victory in the lower courts, they are acting as if there was a
guilty verdict, the same way they've always treated alleged sharers. Regrettably, most
people will capitulate when threatened by the RIAA instead of taking their chances in the
system; p2p developers could be the same way. I think the likes of Limewire and Soulseek
may find themselves compared to Grokster, but not all p2p developers make profits from the
use of their programs and some might not even be in the U.S.
