Converting the lossless wav back to MP3 using MP3 Pro encoder at a
higher sample/bit rate (with some additional signal clean-up) than the
original, actually did sound better than the original WMA. Perhaps a
subjective and biased evaluation since I was never impressed with WMA
to begin with. FLAC sounds like a good viable alternative.
