Itunes m4ps are 128 kbps. Because of slightly greater efficiency of mp4
over mp3, in my experience, a 128 m4p is about the same quality as a 160
kbps mp3. However I would suggest you use at least 192 kbps. Even better
quality would be provided by the Lame presets which are VBR, however the
Ipod has problems with some VBRs, so if you are going to be using an
Ipod, do some testing before committing your whole CD collection to VBR.
I concur with CQ's suggestions of using CDex or EAC for ripping.
