Sometimes even if a player doesn't say it plays DVD+R, it will (example,
older models). However, for better overall compatibility always use
DVD-R.
In a few years of course, as older DVD models die, I'd expect both
formats to be as compatible, but then we'll have DVD HD to deal with.
