They can advertise like that..because of differing file formats..
Most of the mp3's you play, are usually in 128 bitrate range..
The manufacturer probably wrote in small print: at 96, or even 64
bitrate...the smaller the bitrate: the smaller the file..
so, you probably CAN squeeze 1500 songs on there....if you move to a 96
or 64 bitrate...
I recently bought a sony 30 gig HD mp3 player. and loaded 450 songs,
with some opera and classical thrown in...and loaded them all at
128...still have 21 gig left in storage...
Question is: hom much music is really out there????
