I wasn't sure what DVD newsgroup to join to post this so I thought this
would be a good start. If anyone knows any specific groups that might
be more helpful, it would be appreciated.
For the past year I have been having a really annoying issue when it
comes to burning DVD's. They burn correctly, finalize and everything
in my notebooks DVD + R/RW drive that is built into my notebook. I am
able to play the DVD's fine on my home DVD player, but for some reason
if I put the disk back into my optical drive on my notebook, the
computer acts like there is no disk in the drive! I find it strange,
the same drive that created the burn, won't play the burned disk!
Like I said, they play on my home dvd player, and any of my friends
computer DVD drives, or home dvd players.
Can anyone explain why I keep having this problem? I only have this
problem when making actual DVD's, if I burn any other kind of DVD
(data, music, etc), my computer is able to read the disk and I don't
get "no disk in drive" message.
I'm at my wits end with this and I'm ready to just go out and buy an
external drive. I have contacted HP, they have no idea why it's doing
it, I have even reformatted my harddrive and started over from scratch
hoping it would fix the problem, nope, same problem. I use Roxio Easy
Media Creator or Nero 6.6 or DivXToDVD to name a few programs, the
problem happens no matter what program I use to make the burn.
If anyone can offer some insight on this, I would appreciate it.
Thanks.
