Description of Lame switches

q affects encode time, VBR affects filesize

q determines the algorithm used, the lower the q the more complex and
slower is the algorithm.
VBR quality v sets the criteria used to determine when to increase the
bit-rate.

Rather they correspond to sets of parameters.

auto leaves the sample rate as the input. Don't resample unless you need
to, maybe your mp3/cd player only plays 44.1 khz?

I can't see it would cause any problem. You might be careful how much
disk access you do while CDex is trying to read the CD. If you do get
jumps change the ripping method to paranoia (settings-CD Drive)

If it works don't fix it.
