aspi dll for CDex?

Posted by Greg on 02/04/06 23:09

Been running CDex on a Windows XP machine for a little while, using the
Native NT SCSI Library rather than an ASPI dll. So far, so good, so it
seems. However, every time I check out any kind of CDex tutorial, primer,
help, etc. the advice is always to go get the wnaspi32.dll file, copy it
into the CDex folder, and uncheck the Native NT SCSI library option. If
things seem to be going OK so far, is there any reason for me to do this?
If it will improve performance in any way, even slightly, I'll go ahead and
do it since it would be no problem to do. Just wondering...

Thanks,
Greg

Oh, BTW....if using CDex 1.51, any reason at all to switch to the latest
1.60 beta? From the little I've read about it, doesn't seem to be much
reason to switch versions.
