Funny... no mention what so ever of needing a Internet/server/
connection.

So, once again:

I suspect an Internet connection will be used for "Advanced Features
like "direct links with web sites (including maybe additional footage,
not on DVD, discount codes for new purchases, firmware updates,
including a new codecs".

Sat receivers have an option for "telephone" connection, and not many
use that.
