Hopefully it should run to at least five or six series (as with the
Sopranoes & Six Feet Under) - as an ensemble piece there is certainly scope
to develop any of the characters in any direction the writers choose. And
the nature of the town is that you could drop half-dozen new characters in
quite easily.
I guess you are not up to speed with the second series so I won't mention
any plot developments but just say that character acting is superlative -
how McShane never got an Emmy is a crying shame
