Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying historical movies _should_ sacrifice
tension or pacing or anything else for the sake of "accuracy". It's not
always a choice that has to be made thankfully.
Downfall is a very tense movie and there is a real sense of desperation (and
sadness) throughout.
I _do_ think it could have been made a bit better with a bigger budget
perhaps, but not by using rousing music or schmaltzy type "I've always loved
you mein Fuhrer and now we shall die together" dialogue, nor with childish
portrayals of "good vs evil" for the sake of muppets who need a lesson
rammed home.
