The "120 minute" designation simply means that that's the capacity at
standard resolution. It's a guide - like the 180 on a VHS tape, which you
could double by recording in LP mode. There's no reason why you shouldn't
use different recording qualities to fit more onto the disc - but not 8
hours, unless you run an eye hospital and are trying to drum up business for
laser surgery!!! :)
