You can buy a new sim for around tenner, but it depends exactly on the call
package. Probably your key thing is to find a PAYG service that suits your
mums useage and doesnt cut her off if she doesn't use it for a few months. I
suggest asking on uk.mobiles or whatever its called for recommendations.
