Agreed about the DL support, it's mainly for backing up a few home
video films, that exceed 4.7GB. That will probably be the extent of DL
at the moment, and I can justify the expense for such few disks.

However, it does seem difficult to by a well supported drive that doesn't
have DL support at the moment - but I agree with your points about needing
faster drives by the time we head for everyday use.

I think the Pioneer looks and sounds the most reasonable from hunting
around, particularly firmware wise. Also there appears to be a beta
bitshifting firmware for the Pioneer, to get the old standalone
on the go with +R too.
