Tech: Pioneer DVR-3100

Posted by Keith on 02/01/06 14:39

I bought this machine and the Panasonic DMR-E50 around the same time. In the
end I sold the Panasonic and kept the Pioneer, because the picture quality
seemed better and I could record pure NTSC.

However, the Pioneer seems to have developed a problem - when playing any
type of DVD, every 20 or so minutes, for a split second it is as if a
picture frame from a few seconds before flicks up. This problem seems to be
getting worse!

After putting up with it for a while, I used a cleaner disc. It hasn't
helped though.

Has anybody else had this problem with a Pioneer? Any advice as to what it
sounds like is going wrong?

Sadly it started going wrong after the year guarantee had expired. Luckily I
hadn't paid to purchase an extended warranty from Techtronics.

Thanks - Keith
