Fire it up and keep it powered on for 1/2 hr or so to look for
Dead Pixels on the ccd chip or the flip out monitor

hook up a good quality microphone in a quiet room and with headsets listen
to
the audio ---recorded or live to listen for undue Hiss

shoot 1/2 an hour of tape & chech playback for dropouts between pauses in
shooting or anywhere --- there shouldn't be ANY

experiement with the iris in manual and see how smoothly you can adjust it
without
causing camera shake or "stepping" up or down

plug in several XLR cables to see if they fit easily

you get the idea.

See if this new rig (which is still the BEST small one for low-light and
ease of shooting and I have like 5 different kinds) FITS in to your style
and type of shooting.

Can you LIVE with the way it works -- some people LOVE this one (I do) and
some people hate them...
