hi Mark and thanks for the input. the reviews i'm reading say that the FX1
has poor sound quality and lower than the Canon XL2 and Panasonic DVX100A
(which are the three cameras we been considering) now the Z1U might be
different. which do you have? and if your sound is better please tell me
more or if you have a sample posted somewhere would love to see/listen.
also, we're going to produce in 4:3 and thus will want to record in 4:3 and
when i talked to sony they said that it wasn't an option but only 16:9
(however, the techy seemed really confused when i called in AND he couldn't
find the information without some assistance from another tech) moreover,
the reviews i've been reading says that if 16:9 format (which comes from
16:9 aspect ccd's) is converted to 4:3 that the color, sharpness, and video
noise increases and after editing the final result is poorer than if the
original material was recorded on a 4:3 aspect ccd at 1/3 the pixel count.
the reasoning was that the pictures did not have to go through any
modifications, filters, etc. to get outputed into NLE while the 16:9 had to
go through significant modification to get a result.
if you have one of these cameras and your exprience is different under the
described application above, i'd be most pleased to discuss the matter more
thoroughly - - either here as we're doing now, by direct email, or phone
(wherein we'd call to save ya the toll if you'd like).
anxious for a solution,
