Vernon,
If I understand you correctly, you are recording your videos to the DV
camcorder first and then, as a second step, dumping the footage into
the computer from the DV tapes??
If that's true, get yourself the Canopus ACVC-55 analog to digital
converter to eliminate the extra step (just $219 at B&H)
