Ok. Depending on which version you are talking about you can not compare
Smoke or Flame to Premiere. They are two different worlds of apps. While
Smoke and Flame are indeed professional, extensive tools.. they are so
different that you can not compare them. Premiere, an excellent editor,
evolved from a toy to what it is now. Smoke and Flame started out as very
high end tools for comositing, etc.
That said, these may be worthless for what you are trying to do. If you are
not already doing broadcast / film compositing you probably should pass.
Esepcially if they are very old, running on completely outdated SGI
hardware.
