Smoke and flame are the top compositing programs used for making high
end commercials and they are aleo used extensively in film. They are
not editing programs in the sense Premiere is, they are more like turbo
versions of After Effects, if you're looking for a comparison. They
have a little cousin, Combustion, that is priced where mere mortals can
afford it.
if it's a good price, and you get the license and updates for them,
yes, it would be a great value. If you do high-end graphics/special
effects/compositin work.
