with the particular tang of my own viewpoint. As said, if there is

Oh, I dare say I am a bit more bereft of clue than any of
your other detractors. Probably very much more so. But
thank you for the unintended compliment; I'd like to think

No, I think the jester was there in order to give the King
somebody he could easily order beheaded in the event of a fit
of Royal pique. Without having to pay reparations to family
or search for a qualified replacement advisor.
However, the unintended compliment in that statement would be
something along the lines of: "In the Kingdom of the Kook,
the one-clued Jester..." Nope, actually, forget all that.
