Does it help to know about the Flip4Mac encoder for WMV content on OSX

You should be able to output WMV from Quicktime at least, even if it
doesn't work in FCP (it should according to that page). Of course, the
Flip4Mac playback component is now free - so you can play the WMV in
Quicktime if you prefer that as your player.
