I was discussing something similar not too long ago. I bought a sharp
vhs/dvd recorder and found that it treat discovery wings as a copy
protected channel. There was nothing I could do to persuade this
machine that the channel was not protected and it would only allow a
maximum 6 minutes recording, sometimes not a second.
