There is nothing strange about these that I can see. They play
normally on the DVD from which they are imported, and the imported
MPGs play on both h/w and s/w players. They import into TDA and do not
get screwed up by TDA, mainly because TDA doesn't render them in the
first place.
MF4, on the other hand, insists on rendering them even if you
explicitly tell it not to ( "Do not convert MPEG compliant files")
because MF4 is incapable of recognizing an MPEG compliant file - it
converts anything and everything it imports even files processed by
VRD.
But it goes beyond MF4 converting MPEG files even when told not to.
With one of those files, it can't even import it properly. First it
takes a long time just to put the filename in the Open box when you
first click it, then it takes a very long time to do the actual
import, and after all that time it does not display the first frame in
either the preview window of the menu thumbnail. If you attempt to
export it, it will say it takes over six hours to process a 3 minute
clip.

I thought according ot the MF4/VRD shills that VideoReDo was the
answer to all MPG problems.
Yes, your explanation is indeed correct, which means that my calling
the failures of MF4 and VRD to deal with all files a bug is wrong, but
claiming that MF4 and VRD can work on every file is equally wrong too.
I stand corrected - but I doubt that the MF4/VRD shills will be
equally as forthcoming. It takes mental strength to admit you are
wrong, something lacking in the MF4/VRD shills.
