If you are in Australia then the NEC DVD burners are not supported by
NEC. Some import these so the support will be with that dealer that
imports them. The NEC 3540A is a very good drive.
The LG 4163 drives have long since been replaced by the LG
4165/67/66/68 models so you'll be struggling to find anyone that still
sells the older LG 4163 drives. If you do find someone with that model
its a very good model with firmware A105.
Out of the three I would buy the LG 4163 model if available.

Any brand of DVD burner are quite easy to install and all the modern
drives support WinXP.
To prevent burning failures update to the latest firmware and use a
good brand of media. All the drives I've tried make virtually no
noise.
Sony and LG have good firmware updates.
