Standard TV scans the frame in 2 vertical scans. The odd lines then the even
lines. PCs scan the image in one scan with all the lines and at a faster
rate. Newer DVDs and HDTVs can do this and it results in a better picture. I
would guess you need a TV that also does it to take advantage of a DVD
player that provides progressive scan.
