 Thanks for the link - I've upgraded the firmware from 1.02 to 1.05,
 but it's still making coasters on these disks.
 
 They aren't totally unreadable, but once it gets beyond about 60%
 capacity the data gets corrupted.
 
 DVD Decrypter tells me that the disks are RITEK-R03-02.
 Up to now, I'd been using the drive with no problems at all writing on
 PC Line OPTODISC-OP4-01 and Ricoh  RICOHJPN-W11-01 DVD+RW disks.
 
 I guess that this drive just doesn't like the Ritek disks, so FTTB
 I've swapped it with my "spare" NEC ND-2510A and put the LG drive in
 the "spare" computer.
 
 Taking the "Ill Wind" approach, at least I have a few scrap disks
 which I can use to experiment with the printer :-)
