In my experience players are notoriously picky about the types
and even brands of recordable media. Also, it seems, the cheapest
players are the most tolerant of different media. In the past
it has been said that DVD - media were more universally recognized
but it probably doesn't matter now.
If you are just starting to write your own disks, buy a small quantity
of disks and see how they go. If you are successful you can buy a
larger quantity of blanks.
