HiI had the same problem, I found by accident that if I connected the
CamCorder via the FireWire it was very iffy but when I also connected the
usb to the camcorder at the same time it worked every time.

 Might be worth a try

I am also running Studio 9.4.3 under WinXp Home SP2. I have problem to
upload video from my Sony DV camcorder to my PC. I use IEEE1394. My
PC cannot detect this camcorder hardware when switching on. And also I
can control my camcorder via my computer. But I cannot see any video
image on my PC. I had no problem before. What is missing? What can I
do? It is highly appreciated if you can help.
 Best Regards
 Henri
