The main thing is that it won't be Microsoft Windows for a lot of
people if they are locked out of doing things on their own
computers. It will also mean that a lot of people will hang
onto their old computers a lot longer than normal.
Microsoft is taking the approach that the software companies
and content providers are their customers, instead of who their
customers really are. They need to be thinking about what the
users want to be able to do, if they don't want their business
to go down the drain real fast.
I have already ditched Intel and am using an AMD Athlon 3700+
64 bit processor. I don't know if I will ever buy another Intel based
computer. AMD made some better decisions in how to do
their processors and now they are able to out perform Intel,
even with a significantly lower clock speed.
Companies who try to exert to much pressure on people by
forcing things on them will soon find that their customers
have gone elsewhere.
