Aye - I've got one. Only had a brief play with it last night, but
here's my current view on the matter:
Pros:
Cheap. *Extremely* cheap.
Three year warranty (against 'manufacturing defects', natch).
160GB HDD allows for 68 hours of footage (at 'Standard Play' quality).
DVD drive handles everything bar DVD-RAM.
DivX/XviD playback is *extremely* useful.
Picture quality superb.
Progressive scan via component output.
'Time Shift' works like a charm.
As does 'Chase Play'.
Cons:
Timer record can be fiddly - doesn't seem to work if it's in standby.
Recording while watching SCART shows an on-screen-display that you can't
hide.
Makes an audible hum while the room is silent.
Currently no region-free hacks available.
Macrovision enabled. (boo-hiss!)
The remote feels a bit 'cheap'.
I'm pretty pleased with it, overall - especially for the money. £150
for this kind of device is a bargain in anyone's books. If I can iron
out the niggles (especially the timer recording not working in standby -
I'm *certain* it should be able to do this, and I don't fancy leaving a
50W device on all day just so I can record a half-hour programme at
lunchtime) I'll be an extremely happy bunny.
