To add to what I posted in the other NG, if you just rent the cable
companies DVR your headaches will go away...to watch one thing while
recording another, you need two functioning tuners. In this case, your
cable box is your primary tuner, the Sony *may* have a standard cable tuner,
and so may your tv, but you have to connect the cable line into them,
usually bypassing the cable box, hence the need for a splitter. This only
allows non-scrambled content to be tuned in...
