I think I will soon join your plight, but for the time being, I haven't
bought any 16X to try since they are not readily available in singles.
I can only find 50 PK or 25 PK spindle offerings from Fuji and Verbatim;
brands you have already tried. I will reports any new findings.
Let's keep investigating!
