Get a standalone DVD recorder with a Hard Drive (HDD). There are numerous
brands available and prices have come down considerably. I prefer the
Panasonics. The higher end have bells and whistles I don't use - so buy a
midrange with the biggest HDD you can afford.

Technically they are easy to use and allow a surprising amount of editing.
You can burn directly to DVD if you wish. Mostly I copy to the HDD, edit,
then dub to the DVD. You can make as many copies as you like. The only
downside is time. It's quicker to dub on the computer. Denzil.
