mp3/USB/flash-mem

Posted by news on 03/01/06 12:25

Hi,

Is there a technical site/forum were I can find answers like:
- what is *.wav bytes per minute recorded ?
- and *.wma & *. mp3 ?
- can any formats be 'cut-off-ending' or is there eg. a checksum
such that the files integrity will be lost ?
- and if so is there a tool/algorithms to fix this ?

I've got this mp3/USB/flash-mem which has tested able to:
- play *.wav that I can find on W98se
- record via its built-in mike OK
- move files in/out via USB to the PC.

The paper says it can play *.mp3 & *.wma, but so far I haven't
been able to find even a small sample file to test.

Q- where would I down load samples of *.mp3 & *.wma ?

Q- is it practical for me to convert the telephone-recordings
[apparently in *.wav] to *.mp3 to sore on the pc and reload
later for listening, to the mp3 player ?

I much prefer to use linux.

Thanks for any info.

== Chris Glur.
