Sure, there are lots of reliable burners, and the Pioneer is one of
them. Burning 3-4 DVDs a day for two *years* is heavy use for any
burner, so I'm not surprised yours wore out.
I just bought a Pioneer DVR-110D to replace an over-four-year-old
DVR-104 that finally wore out. I definitely got my money's worth out
of it, and I don't burn nearly as much as you do.
The 110D is around $40 from meritline.com, supermediastore.com, and
rima.com. (At the moment, supermediastore.com has the best price of
the three at $38.45.) Even if it that one lasts two years with your
heavy use, it's a hell of a deal. By then, you'll be getting a BluRay
or HD-DVD burner anyway!
