Today I discovered to my horror that there's suddenly a dead spot on
the CCD sensor of my JVC GY-DV300. In a dark scene it's a very
noticeable white dot in the upper right hand quadrant of the screen.
In a lighted scene, it's a small dark spot in the same place.
Increased gain lights it up.
I've never seen a problem like this mentioned in these groups, but I
wonder if this is just an expensive trip to a JVC repair center or if
there are any alternatives or tricks around for dealing with this. The
cameras I use all the time and beat up never have problems. It's only
the most expensive one that has to fail like this :^(
