Just bought a Sony HVR-A1 from an internet outfit call
www.globalmediapro.com. operating out of New Zealand.
Check out their site and you will see why!
At first I was very sceptical as they required cash BEFORE shipping, and not
by credit card but a direct deposit into a specified bank account.
I checked out the account as far as I could (HSBC bank in Canada in my case)
(I guess every different country has it's own bank to use) and was assured
that the account was operated normally and was quite active.
I decided to risk it for a biscuit. Nothing ventured etc.
I ordered (from Canada) on Tuesday last week, and received the camera (via
UPS) on Friday. Wow! Well packed, and in perfect shape.
Only problem is that it is a Jap version HVR-A1J and all the documentation
is in Japmantalk! Fortunately the camera labels, and menues are in English.
I was able to find an Acrobat file of the instruction book in English on the
net! So all is well.
So if anyone has some concerns about these guys, well don't!
