Get a satellite dish, and place a normal directional microphone in the
spot where the LNB usually sits.
FWIW directional microphones are not that hard to get working - it is
hard to get them to deliver decent sound quality.
If your sound is too weak, nothing will work - the human ear being very
sensitive and so on it is easy enough to make a mistake here.
