French with English subtitles
During Nazi occupation, a Jewish village decides to escape pending round-up
and subsequent transport to Poland's death camps. Village tailors dress few
men as Nazi soldiers. An (abandoned?) train is used to cram it with village
inhabitants escorted by pseudo-German guards. The next day when authorities
arrive at the village, everyone is gone. What follows is a comic (?)
odyssey to freedom (Switzerland)...outsmarting Nazis and Nazi
collaborators...a love affair between a boy and a girl on the train...
I've seen it on TV a long time ago and would like to see it again. Anyone
knows the title of this film?
