unfortunately for your theory, Sony didn't choose Java by itself. The
blu-ray disc association, which includes many Sony compettitors (movies
and consumer products alike, like Samsung, Panasonic, Disney, Apple,
Dell, etc) chose Java because they saw how successful it was in other
industries in providing more choice for the consumers and more income
for the companies.
