Golden ears, huh? Or are you just comparing with iTunes MP3 encoder
(which sucks)?

That's exaggerating things a little, don't you think? The highest
quality MP3 is 320kbps. The lowest
bitrates you'll ever see with ALE for real music are about 600kbps.
That's almost double the size.
